This bereavement camp is for children ages 8 to 18 that have had a loss that has impacted their lives in the past 5 months to 2 years.  There is no cost to them, though family must provide transportation to and from the camp.  Bunk houses, meals, showers, and a large volunteer staff are provided.  Camp is located at the CAMP RONALD McDONALD at Eagle Lake.

Goals of Camp HUG

   •  To create a safe environment where children feel
     comfortable sharing
     and expressing their grief with other grieving children.

   •  To help children learn healthy ways to deal with grief.

   •  To Have Fun!

Activities Include:

Circle Time (active grief work)
Memory Sharing  •  Story Telling  •  Memory Boxes
Journaling  •  Scrapbooks  •  Crafts
Hiking  •  Canoeing  •  Archery
Snacks  •  Campfire  •  Singing  •  Skits
and much more!

Special attention is given to saying goodbye.
