This
bereavement camp is for children ages 8 to 18 that have had a
loss that has impacted their lives in the past 5 months to 2
years. There is no cost to them, though family must
provide transportation to and from the camp. Bunk houses,
meals, showers, and a large volunteer staff are provided.
Camp is located at the CAMP RONALD
McDONALD at
Eagle Lake.
Goals of Camp HUG
To create a safe environment where children feel
comfortable
sharing
and expressing their grief with other grieving
children.
To help children learn healthy ways to deal with grief.
To Have Fun!
Activities Include:
Circle Time
(active grief work)
Memory Sharing Story Telling Memory Boxes
Journaling Scrapbooks Crafts
Hiking Canoeing Archery
Snacks Campfire Singing Skits
and much more!
Special attention is given to saying goodbye.
